Charles Thompson

Chief Executive

Charles is one of the UK's most successful factual television producers. His reputation for creating popular peak-time factual programming is second to none and includes producing documentaries for Channel Four's Cutting Edge series, the acclaimed Commando documentary series for ITV, Crime Beat for BBC and many other proven ratings winners over the years. In 1981 he founded IFPA, one of the first independents to work with Channel Four. In 1993 the company was bought by the Trilion Group with Charles remaining as Managing Director. Following takeover by Television Corporate, Charles became MD of Mentorn, increasing revenues from £17 million to £30 million driven by a raft of peak time successes including Car Wars; Traffic Cops; Shops, Robbers & Videotape and Chopper Coppers. Charles also oversaw the expansion of Mentorn's US activities and its successful move into drama and executive produced the hit Fox Reality series, Paradise Hotel. He was also an executive director of Television Corporation plc, resigning in June 2005, before setting up Steadfast Television.

Sally oversees the international division and manages sales in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Germany, Italy and France. She is also responsible for worldwide co-productions and works in production developing ideas for the UK and international markets.

Working with some of the industries leading production and distribution companies and major artists, Sally has consistently been connected with a wide range of international hits. For MediaVentures shows included the acclaimed, Nicole Kidman hits, Bangkok Hilton and Vietnam. At Storm plc she set up an international division handling shows including Treasure Island for ITV. Sally has also worked BMG Records, The Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix Estates The Brits and BBC Music Live. She developed and Executive Produced, Celebrity Soccer Six – a documentary featuring, Robbie Williams. She Executive Produced, The Rubber Ball, a 60’ documentary for Fuji Entertainment and Project Managed and Co-produced Pop Idol Interactive for Fremantle/19/ITV. While at Television Corporation she oversaw international format deals for Paradise Hotel, Robot Wars and The World’s Worst Series. Sally has also recently Co-developed and Executive Produced Who Framed Kate Moss? for VH1.

Paul Crompton is Executive Producer on a number of commissions: ‘Timothy Spall: Somewhere at Sea’ for BBC Four; ‘UK Border Force’ for Sky1, ‘CCTV Cities’ for Five and Co-Producer on a one-off documentary with Eastenders’ actress Brooke Kinsella for BBC1. Previously he spent 4 years as Commissioning Editor, Factual at Sky1 where he commissioned an extensive range of single docs and series from ‘Secret Life of Suburbia’ with Arthur Smith, ‘Killing Mum and Dad’, ‘Rock Stars’ Wives’, ‘Darts Players’ Wives, the RTS winner ‘Steven Gerrard: A Year in My Life’, ‘Football Years’ and ‘Conspiracies’ with Danny Wallace and Simon Reeve. He has worked across the board in the independent sector at AFP specialists Group M and at indies Bite Yer Legs, Waddell Media and Monkey Kingdom. Just before joining Steadfast Television he was Executive Producer on ‘Big Brother’s Little Brother’ with Dermot O’Leary and produced a Dispatches with Jon Snow.

Oliver has joined Steadfast this year as an Executive Producer for Factual Programming. Previously he was Commissioning Editor for Factual output at Virgin 1 where he was responsible for a string of hit series including Danny Dyer’s Real Football Factories International; the reality prison show Brits Behind Bars and Rageh Omaar’s Crime Invasion. He’s an award-winning producer with over sixteen years experience in television, mainly specialising in hard factual and current affairs programming. Credits include World In Action for ITV; The Cook Report for ITV; Kenyon Confronts for BBC1 and a number of Donal MacIntyre investigations for Five as well as numerous Dispatches programmes for Channel 4. He also has extensive experience of working in popular factual. He recently Series Produced Ross Kemp On Gangs for Sky One; he created ITV’s hit format House Of Horrors and also Series Produced ITV’s long-running show Neighbours From Hell.
